Glacier Perito Moreno

Date: March 31st, 2023

Location: Parque Nacional de Los Glaciares, Santa Cruz, Argentina

I never thought I’d see the day when I would walk on a glacier, let alone drink from one. This was one of the coldest environments I've ever visited, until I arrived on the glacier. Because of the clear sky, the sun was beaming down and made the walk along the glacier surprisingly warmer than I expected. The glacier itself appears light blue from afar, and even deeper blue from up close, and it added to the allure. The glacier has an abundance of crevices, that range from a few meters to hundreds of meters deep. Needless to say, if you drop something, you will never see it again. I was fortunate enough to leave with all my property, and the most majestic memories ever.

Not as cold as it looks

As it pertains to my emotions upon seeing this glacier, my face here says it all.

This is nowhere near the largest collapse that has been witnessed at the glacier, but still a sight to see.

Walking on a glacier

A view of the Andes mountains from atop the glacier. Something I never would’ve dreamed of seeing.

One of the largest glaciers in the world

The Perito Moreno glacier is fed by the third largest ice field in the world. The entire glacier is larger than the city of Buenos Aires.

This magical piece of ice spanned for miles

The glacier looks small from far away, until you are actually standing on it. Only then can you see just how vast it is
