Cloudbridge Nature Reserve

Date: October 8th, 2019

Location: San Gerardo, Costa Rica

This wonderful forest was my first true taste of jungle solitude. This private reserve was established in 2002 with the purpose of preserving and reestablishing the forest on the outskirts of Chirripo national park. Almost all of the native species of Costa Rica have been spotted in this lush environment. I unfortunately did not allow myself to acclimate to the altitude before I began my hike through the reserve, and it made my hike a bit more difficult. Otherwise, it was a beautiful and relaxing stroll. Stay on the trails though! It was while in this forest where I saw the biggest snake I’d ever seen in the wild.

Jungle beauty

It’s almost sad that the beauty of a forest can never be captured in a photo. The sounds, smells and feel of this wonderful jungle can only be fully experienced by being there.
